PLAIN BEAUTIFUL Michael will be originating the role of Ronnie in the new musical, Plain Beautiful, by Harold Schmidt and Grammy award winning composer, John W. Thompson. "Plain Beautiful is the story of a young woman who must decide to forgo her way of life or abandon her dreams. It is a decision that every Amish teen must make, and the consequences of that decision will live with them forever. There is no middle ground. They must choose to live the life of the "Plain People" and forgo the modern world, or embrace the modern world, and be shunned by the people they love. When Rachel falls for an "English" boy, the decision she thought was final is suddenly shaken. In the vein of Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story, Plain Beautiful is a musical about two young people from different worlds who fall in love, and discover that the most difficult choices in life define who we are." VANITY FAIR Michael has had the pleasure of going into the studio with the Original Cast recording of the new Wright Brother's musical, Flyer. "One Wing" is sung near the end of Act II after his brother Wilbur's death. "Possibility" is the final number in the show which finds Orville singing about the hope and promise of tomorrow. Additionally, co-composer Diana Belkowski, of Flyer, has asked Michael to play the role of George Osborne on the demo recording of her new musical Vanity Fair. The musical is an adaptation of the classic novel by William Makepeace Thackeray. "The Line in the Sand" finds George questioning what life would be like outside of his newly arranged marriage to Amelia. Set in Victorian England, George pours out his heart after he has been stood up by Becky, the real woman of his dreams. All three songs have now been uploaded to the MEDIA page. August 23, 2009:

This award-winning show was initially presented at the Lamb’s Mainstage Theatre in NYC, followed by a week-long stay as part of North Carolina's NASA/Smithsonian 2003 Festival of Flight. The production was also presented in abridged concert form at Oklahoma City University in 2006, as part of their inaugural “Stripped” Musical Theatre Program. 2009 marks the 100th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers’ very first plane sold! 2009 also notes the Centennial of the renowned Paris Air Show, which figured greatly in Wilbur and Orville’s path to notoriety. However, the message of Flyer is timeless, as the story is as much about the complex influences that nurture or inhibit potential as it is about a child’s dream to fly." - from www.flyerthemusical.com Performance date: Press release from Broadway World: Press release from Playbill: Press release from TheatreMania: For tickets, directions & other information: August 15, 2009:
